Everett Matthew is twenty-one months old! In other words,
three months until his 2nd birthday!
Everett's baby sister is due one month from today. He
notices babies now, and for a short while called them "buh-bye," but
now says "baby."
Everett likes to dance or stomp to music, even to the rhythm
of the washing machine. He likes to sing. He likes to look at books and have
stories read to him, though he's about as patient as his sister was at that age
- and makes it through only a few words per page.
Everett enjoyed playing with a toddler basketball hoop at
his friend, Madeline's, house, so we got him one from a yard sale. He loves
playing "gah-peh-gee" (basketball) in the yard. Blake's folks got
Everett a tricycle and helmet and he loves to play "ah-sigh"
(outside) on his "bike" (he says that one correctly!) When Blake took
Emery to the playground to practice her new roller skates, Everett was so sad
he got left behind and cried "bike! bike!" the whole time they were
gone.
When Emery is upset (stubs her toe or something), Everett
gets equally upset and comes running over to share in the reassuring hugs.
Everett has four teeth in the front on the top and the
bottom. He's now working on the four canine teeth between those and the molars
he already has. This is why EVERYTHING goes in his mouth, including a handful
of dirt last week. So he's spending extra time with a pacifier to ease his
mouth pain and keep the world out of his mouth!
Everett has picked up a lot of words this month.
