Delaney Alina is ten months old!
Delaney learned to crawl this month! First she crawled backwards, then she figured out how to crawl forward. Even though it's been 3 weeks of crawling, Everett declares, "Mommy, look! Waney is crawling!" like it's brand new every time it happens.
This past week, she figured out how to reach up onto the couch or ottoman or inside the pack-n-play to get up on her knees, and she tries to pull up to standing, but hasn't quite done it yet on her own. When she holds our hands and has a little extra help, she can pull up to her feet. We think it'll happen on her own pretty soon! Once she's standing, she hasn't yet gotten the idea of holding on, so we hope that comes with it!
Delaney can wave (when she wants). We're working on clapping, but she doesn't seem to get it yet. I realized this week that we had forgotten to teach her "touchdown" (both arms straight up) - so we're working on that. With all these siblings and their activity, she may not get all the "lessons" the other two got (apparently Emery could almost say "kitty" and Everett knew the lion said "grrr" at this age), but she sure knows how to make sure she doesn't get left behind.
Delaney is an excellent eater. She loves all sorts of table food (and often finishes what Everett won't eat). She loves chicken, ground beef, cheese, veggies, strawberries, apples, waffles, and anything we offer her! She can drink from a straw cup and loves water too. So far, we haven't seen any teeth poke through yet - though she's VERY insistent that we don't look. It's possible there's one on the bottom that's close to poking through - that will be her first one!
Delaney's sleep is still difficult, though she actually slept all night the past two nights!
Delaney is very social and loves to be close to everyone! We can't wait to see what she learns this next month!
