Delaney Alina is sixteen months old!
Delaney started picking up several new words this month. Many of her words need context (e.g., pointing to the object or hearing her repeat us) to decipher, but she's definitely understanding so much more than we understand her; and she's trying hard to communicate.
New words: No, baby, wow, whoa, heh yo (hello), wuh duh (water), bye (bright), deh duh (get up), deh dow (get down), bobby (potty), pih puh (pickle), dee (beep and please and drink), tee tee (thank you), see (shoe), hi die (high five), dee dee doh ([1], 2 ,3, go!), doggie, boo bee (blueberry), aw bee (strawberry), nay nee (Delaney), and others we're forgetting.
She's learning animal sounds: cow, horse, cat, dog, and lion. We heard a dog outside and she said: doggie, ruh ruh ruh.
She has a few new teeth: the two next to the middle two on the top, one molar on the top left. And if there are any more on the bottom, she won't let me see!
She colored with crayons and played with Play Doh for the first time this month and mostly didn't eat either.
Delaney gives hugs and also shoves if you're too close. She can get tops off markers and chapstick, and open most containers - unlike her sister who could be trusted with these items at her age! She's a busy girl!
Delaney has a bit of a temper and has very strong opinions, but we know these qualities will take her places in life!
