This month, Everett started pointing. When we look in the mirror, I tend to say: "Look at that guy!" and it sounds like he says "dah-guy" when he points at himself in the mirror.
We've been practicing for a while, and today Everett waved for the first time (open and closing his fingers). We also practice clapping but although he meets his hands together, so far it looks more like he's just grabbing his fingers.
Everett responds accordingly to me saying: jump, shake (a rattle toy), night-night (lies head down), touchdown (arms up), shiver (he makes a funny face and sorta shimmies his arms like he got a cold chill), peek-a-boo (he'll drop out of sight, then stand back up and laugh), more (almost the sign for "more"), all done (pushes the high chair tray, although the sign is what we're going for!), what does the lion say? (rrrroaarr), and now he waves.
He can say "uh oh," "drah" (dropped?), "nigh-nigh" (night night), "ah duh" (all done), "em ma" (Emery), no no, and probably other things we don't understand.
A few weeks ago we discovered that he knows how to play peek-a-boo. He'll stand at the ottoman and if you say it, he'll drop out of sight and then pop back up. He loves it!
Everett can push his walker toy and walk well with it, but he doesn't seem interested in walking while holding our hands. He seems like he might be testing to see if he can let go of the couch to stand on his own, but he won't let us try to stand him on his own!
Everett has four teeth - two on the bottom, two on the top. It's hard to tell where the next ones might be coming in, but he certainly has increased his drooling in the last week or two.
He has tried to climb the sides of the pack n' play and can reach over the edge to get things on the table that I keep thinking are far enough away from his reach!
Last week I unzipped his sleeper at night after he was asleep and he didn't wake up until morning.
We're grateful for this sweet boy!
