Delaney Alina is seventeen months old!
Delaney has picked up so many words this month! It seems she is so much better at replicating syllables than she was just a few weeks ago. When she repeats us, it suddenly sounds so much like what we're saying! She can say appa doo (apple juice), mee-ow (Mickey Mouse), bow (phone), eh-mee (help me), hi ya (hi-ya, as in a martial arts move), hi doo (hey dude, which is a line from the book, Cat the Cat Who is That?), tee dee (TV), mo (remote), boy (boy and also Everett), ah-mee (Emery), doh (Jo), doddie (doggie or Jaxsyn), wight (light), bi (bright), beh (bed), beer (bear), dih dow (sit down), baby (baby), soo (shoe), dee dee doh! (1, 2, 3, go!), dee (drink), mo (more), deh dow (get down), bobby (potty), dee (cheese), see-zee (squeezy, as in squeezy pouch snack), uh dow (fell down), and so many others. When she sees letters, she points and says: Dee, Oh, Oh, Dee!
She knows several animal sounds and can correctly answer, "what does the ___ say?": moo (cow), meow (kitty), ruh ruh ruh (dog), hee aw (donkey), neh neh neh (horse), rawr (lion), brrrrr (elephant), cheep cheep (chicken), tee tee (bird). She also loves to hum along to the Final Jeopardy song and cheers for solved puzzles on Wheel of Fortune.
Delaney has 11 teeth: four on the top, three on the bottom (not the far left), and four molars.
We visited Blake's folks after Christmas and she got to play with their dog, Jaxsyn. She was surprisingly gentle with and seemingly unafraid around the dog.
Delaney loves peek-a-boo, running and laughing, and copying her siblings!
