Post-Farmer's Market Soup

We took a trip to the farmer's market this week. We got striped zucchini, two kinds of yellow squash, hot house tomatoes, sweet potatoes, and blueberries. Emery claimed the blueberries all to herself, but I came home tonight and had no idea what to do with the vegetables. We wanted dinner, so I just started chopping and throwing things into pots. In one pot I put the zucchini and some of the yellow squash. I boiled that for a good 10-12 minutes. In another pot I put chopped tomatoes, chopped onions, a can of barley and lentil soup, and a can of garden vegetable soup. In addition I mixed in some seasonings, including thyme, basil, oregano, and seasoned salt. I also put in some Greek vinaigrette. After the zucchini softened, I blended the pots together:

In time this reduced down:

Separately, I baked some chicken breast with more of the same seasonings and Greek vinaigrette. I put this together with the rest of the yellow squash.

Then I chopped the chicken breast ...

and put it into the pot with the rest of the baked yellow squash.

When everything was done, we had a large and tasty batch of chicken vegetable soup. Some of us went back for seconds.
