chubby teens

At work, I've been working on the same study for the past 3 1/2 years (read: I schedule the meetings for the actual researchers). It's called the Study of Early Child Care and Youth Development. There is a large network of researchers who have been studying the same 1,000 kids for 17 years and they write many papers about all sorts of different topics based on the ton of data they've collected. The findings of one of their recently released papers has been covered in the news.

Here is CBS's coverage.

and USA Today.

most major news outlets have covered it this week.

I've seen it twice now. Very impressive!

Tiffanie, did they use you as a baseline for skinniness?

It's nice to have your hard work validated. Good job!!
I think it's up to the parents to see that their children get involved in organized sports, dance, etc. to get some exercise if they aren't going to get it on their own. That also gets the parent exercising as they run their children to all their various involvements. What's good for the kids is good for the parents.

i love taking credit for work i didn't do. but if it weren't for me, they would have no handouts for their meetings and no idea what decisions were made. critical to the study, i know.
